WHERE TO STAND

Slumped into a comfortable recliner?

Too busy keeping fit, staying employed, taking leisure, pursuing passion, or enjoying retirement to consider anything at all?

Such questions cause neck hairs to stand up on some.

“I know where I stand,” may be one's immediate reaction to any question regarding belief.

Others usually expect us to know something. Yet it is possible to have no opinion. We all have known times when uncertainty or lack of knowledge have clouded our vision. At those times we may evade the issue or put off a response until some later yet to be scheduled time. "Let's not think about that now" may be our suggestion at such uncomfortable moments. And unless our personal well being is in some way threatened we may never get back to the subject.

After all isn't perpetual avoidance a common and acceptable response to demands we care not to meet?

The old frequently follow this habit while the young are often too busy to think about it.

No action is a choice. To decide what to do one may need a point of view.
