A warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate are welcome items on a cold winter night. So it is that we may turn away from the harsh outside elements and seek shelter in the quiet silence of our rooms or the noisy caverns of our households -- filled with family, friends, and visitors. There or anywhere we may look for the wonder of discovery or the excitement of distraction through the tethered leashes of our electronic gadgets. The age is rapidly slipping into the past of the soft easy chair, the strong light, and the enlightenment of a story or the understanding of an extended description of this world’s phenomena --- the pleasures that we get from sitting and reading a good hard-covered book or a tattered favorite paperback.

Here is a suggestion for change:
Let us take a moment, perhaps a little longer, to consider the world beyond our doorway and outside of our busy lives.
Let us ponder over what is possible and what is not.
Let us wonder if there is something more in the going and coming of us all than the hurry and rush and gain or loss of our daily activities.
Let us be free and grab love and hope and liberty wherever we find them.
Let us care about one another.
